Program description

This creative-focused degree allows you to combine your interests in music and technology. Majoring in electronic music and sound design allows students to delve into both the creative and technical sides of the discipline, preparing them to compose digital and electronic music at a professional level.

Your ability to think creatively, invent, and innovate will be enhanced by a mix of studio and lab-based units. Collaborative projects, both large and little, will help you hone your abilities in electronic and digital music composition, sound design, and production. These are transferable talents that can open doors to many creative and technical careers.

Whatever your passion may be—an album of electronic works, a live performance/exhibition, film/animation scoring, or video game music—the Electronic Music and Sound Design major can accommodate it.
