Program description
At its core, economics is a study of how people and communities cope with limited resources. However, there is a vast body of social science research supporting that claim, and it has substantial implications for fields as diverse as mathematics, philosophy, public policy, economics, and the natural and physical sciences.
Students enrolled in this Combined Bachelor and Master (CBM) program have the chance to participate in an extensive program that covers a wide range of topics in these fields. As a student, you may expect to learn about the most recent ideas in micro and macroeconomics, as well as theories pertaining to local and international markets. Applying this theoretical understanding to significant historical and present concerns across both developed and developing economies is another major component of the program.
Students will gain marketable skills in data analytics, applied statistics, and theory during this curriculum, which is well-respected by public and private sector employers. In the course of our long and illustrious history, we have produced graduates who have gone on to secure positions in a diverse array of fields, from the highly competitive Reserve Bank of Australia and Treasury to major financial organizations. The training that economics students receive at UWA equips them with the critical thinking and problem-solving abilities that companies seek out, in addition to a solid foundation in technical knowledge.
