Program description

The study and practice of biology and medicine are undergoing fast change due to the recent boom of data and technology. This pertains to developments in genetics and genomics as well as the vast array of phenotypic data being produced, which covers topics ranging from medication development and the understanding and treatment of human disease to crop performance and the environment.

People with the abilities to handle and decipher this deluge of data are in high demand. To satisfy this need, the field of bioinformatics has expanded and changed.

The topic of bioinformatics encompasses a wide range of technologies with biological applications. With the ability to concentrate on the student's particular interests, whether they be biomedical, environmental, or agricultural, the course here offers a foundation in these major areas of biology.
