Program description

Nine coursework modules, a research thesis, and 1000 hours of practical placement in three distinct settings are all part of the two-year, full-time Master of Industrial and Organizational Psychology program.

The specialty field of industrial and organizational psychology applies psychological knowledge and abilities to workplaces in an effort to enhance work-life balance and organizational success.

Determining the fundamentals of individual, group, and organizational behavior and using this understanding to solve issues at work are the main goals of the specialization.

The acquired skills align with the fundamental core competencies and qualities needed for postgraduate professional courses by the Australian Psychological Society's (APS) College of Organizational Psychologists and the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).

Requirements for applicants

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have

  • an accredited bachelor's honours degree in psychology with at least an upper second class Honours (2A), or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia or the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. The Honours degree in psychology must be completed within the past 10 years at the time of application or you must be provisionally or generally registered as a psychologist with AHPRA at the time of application;
  • Applicants must be eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.

English competency

  • Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
