Program description

The Master of Landscape Architecture program teaches resiliency, design, and management of natural and artificial landscapes to improve the environment and our experience of it. Develop long-term, multi-scale solutions to complex issues like urban ecology, biodiversity loss, climate change, and water-sensitive architecture using systems thinking and creative practice.

You can participate in WIL and placements through practicum units. You will gain a solid theoretical and practical foundation and advanced technical, analytical, design, and communication skills to solve problems and create innovative landscape architecture results based on your undergraduate landscape architecture studies (or equivalent conversion units). The course emphasizes global, regional, and local ecological, cultural, and social design.

The Master of Landscape Architecture program offers coursework or coursework plus dissertation. In Coursework mode, students can specialize in Environmental Planning or Urban Design or take a number of electives in addition to basic courses. Coursework and Dissertation students choose an independent research project to supplement their basic coursework.
