Program description
The training integrates theory and practice to increase knowledge and practical abilities for strategic and proactive public, economic, and social response. You can specialize in economics, public administration and governance, or law. You can also combine two specializations.
Scholarly seminars, guest lectures from prominent practitioners, and case studies give students multiple opportunities to apply their knowledge to legal, social, economic, and public issues.
- Economics students learn economic evaluation methods and how markets and government affect the economy. This applied economics program covers finance, taxation, health, housing, education, transportation, utilities, trade, development, and the environment. This worldwide specialization blends theory and practice to improve the skills of professionals in complex corporate, public, and non-profit organizations in Australia and overseas.
- The Public Administration and Governance concentration focuses on public policy governance. It prepares students to run national and international non-profits and governments. It gives students a solid academic foundation to formulate, implement, and evaluate public policies and a wealth of information to strategically and aggressively solve social and economic issues. Students will study how social, political, and economic issues affect pandemics, inequality, poverty, and climate change.
- Law concentration students learn how legal sectors and institutions originate and implement policies. The course uses critical, theoretical, theological, and practical lenses to analyze these themes. It gives students the legal, regulatory, and policy skills to work in commercial corporations, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations, especially public sector ones.
