Program description

You can gain experience with new media, written, oral, and visual presentations, science performance, and collaborating with professionals in the field through Science Communication. It teaches you how to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences, from scientists to young children.

Develop the practical skills required for good science communication, learn the fundamentals of effective science communication, and create methods that cater to the communication needs of various organizations, including government agencies, unofficial museums, science centers, and research centers.

You will be able to apply their knowledge to a research project and get an understanding of the theory that underpins the field.

Students who have not completed prior tertiary studies in science communication including a minor in Science Communication, or equivalent, must complete relevant conversion units up to the value of 24 points from this group, as advised by the School(s):

Requirements for applicants

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have

  • a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;
  • the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent.

English competency

  • Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
