Program description
Refine your instrument and collaborate with an ensemble, investigating authenticity in performance at the premier acting school in Vancouver. Determine within four months if acting is the suitable creative avenue for you.
In four months, you will achieve your degree with:
- A certificate in Fundamental Acting Skills
- The requirements for application to VFS’s one-year Acting for Film and Television program
- Access to the VFS Alumni Directory and Employment Board
Program structure
Term 1:
The Art of Acting. Examine the principles of acting with an introduction to camera work, improvisation, and auditioning, alongside the key components for actors, including voice, movement, text analysis, and acting methodologies. Dedicate yourself to the discipline via fundamental scene analysis and earnest experimentation.
Term 2:
The Actor's Toolkit. Consolidate the actor's diverse skills to engage more profoundly with scripts in order to develop dynamic characters. Enhance your acting repertoire by deepening your connection with your voice, body, imagination, and on-camera presence.

Acting Essentials for film and TV is ideal for those who feel a need to expand their foundation in acting methods and for those without a portfolio sufficient to gain entrance into VFS's one-year Acting for Film and Television program.
