Program description
The Foundation Visual Art and Design program is an excellent choice for those who want to attend one of VFS's professional programs and need the construction of an art portfolio. Additionally, it is an excellent choice for individuals who have an interest in more than one entertainment arts subject but are unclear of what they want to do for a living. At this time, there are no prerequisites that are special to the program.
After one year, you will graduate with the following:
- A certificate in Foundation Visual Art and Design
- A portfolio that highlights your previous work

Program structure
Term 1:
Discover 2D composition and an introduction to creative software while studying the history of art, ideas, media, and filmmaking, with a focus on documentaries.
Term 2:
Explore the psychology of art and media history while also taking programs that explain design ideas and help you improve your writing and sketching talents.
Term 3:
Apply media production techniques to motion graphics and animation.
Term 4:
Complete a personal project using the creative abilities you've gained in past terms.
Term 5:
Define idea development and commit to the completion of your ultimate product.
Term 6:
Prepare for graduation by completing your final project and assembling your portfolio or show reel.
