Program description
A multidisciplinary agronomical programme that incorporates basic, applied, and social sciences provides education in a variety of transdisciplinary biotic, physical, and social system issues. In contrast to traditional agricultural engineering, the education provided includes planting of fodder crops, cereals, fruits and vegetables, and other value-added agricultural items, as well as the feasibility of sophisticated integrated precise agricultural technologies for growing such crops.
The Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering focuses on tractors and other agricultural power machinery; post-harvest product processing machinery; energy, bioenergy, and agricultural electrification; animal husbandry mechanisation; greenhouse mechanisation; redesigning, installing, and operating agricultural systems using control systems in aquafarming and information technologies; and precise agricultural technologies in landfarming. The Department's goal is to train professional scientists and technicians with planning and administrative abilities who value economic sustainability as well as environmental and social factors.
To graduate from the Department where English is the medium of teaching, all senior students must complete a one-year long-term internship in the industry.
Graduates of the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering can work at institutions affiliated with the Ministries of Agriculture and Forestry, Public Works and Settlement, and Energy and Natural Resources, as well as companies engaged in producing agricultural technologies, tractor manufacturers and retailers, companies engaged in maintenance, repair, and spare parts, any business engaged in agricultural production or marketing, and factories managed by government agencies.
