Program description
Civil engineering, one of the oldest engineering disciplines, is a moderately important field of engineering in countries that are experiencing economic development and seeing a continual migration to large cities due to high population increase. In our country, where urbanisation has increased much too quickly and dramatically since the 1990s, there is a growing demand for civil engineers who understand the changing conditions of the era and technological breakthroughs and are capable of putting these skills to use. In this regard, our country, which is located in an earthquake zone and has structures with challenges in terms of both project and materials employed, need civil engineering education that is proficient in both national and international standards. Today, with technology taking over so much of our lives, designing, planning, calculating, and building structures that can withstand any natural obstacle is critical. In accordance with this goal, the Yaşar University Civil Engineering programme is set to begin in order to train civil engineers who can project more durable and environmentally sensitive structures while effectively utilising information technologies and are prepared to compete in the construction industry.
Graduates are employed as civil engineers and may work in international and/or local civil engineering projects, as well as other occupations that require civil engineers.
