Program description

The Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema offers students a comprehensive and integrated study curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills applicable to their future professional employment. The department looks to its skilled academic team to train students to become the next generation of cinema and film professionals. Graduates are known for their inventiveness and talent, and they fully meet the standards of the film and media sectors thanks to the training they get. The Department of Radio, Cinema, and Television offers courses in classrooms outfitted with cutting-edge audio-visual technology and IT infrastructure. Students can also obtain actual work experience by working on projects and practising production in the university's photography, television, and radio facilities, as well as the Media Centre and Multimedia Laboratory.

Graduates of the Radio, Cinema, and Television Department can find work in the film business, television companies that produce news and programmes, entertainment production companies, advertising agencies, and media research firms. Graduates with specialised interests and talents may also pursue professions as directors, cinematographers, editors, scriptwriters, producers, or media researchers.

Program structure

The department provides students with a curriculum that balances theoretical and practical work: academic understanding in media and communication, as well as practical experience through a variety of practical courses and projects.

In accordance with the curriculum subjects, national and international seminars are also organised.

Price

Tuition fee: 8,000 USD/year

For students who are accepted to their desired program, a non-refundable placement fee of 1000 USD will be charged to those who accept the program placement.

Requirements for applicants

  • High school/secondary education (or higher)
  • The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English/Turkish.
  • Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
  • You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.
  • Quota for the department is 2 ppl and is applicable for all the applications around the world

Language requirements:

  • TOEFL IBT 78
  • CAE Grade B or above
  • Yasar University FLAT exam 65%

Other requirements:

  • At least 1 reference(s) must be provided.
  • A motivation letter must be added to your application.

Selçuk Yaşar Sports and Education Foundation launched Yaşar University in Izmir in 2001 to promote culture, art, and design and provide education, research, and services to the local and worldwide society.
