Program description
Mechanical engineering is a vast field that encompasses the application of physical concepts to mechanical system analysis, design, manufacture, and maintenance. Mechanical engineering includes the design and manufacture of products utilised in all aspects of society, as well as the analysis and prevention of mechanical system failures and the improvement of the efficiency and dependability of renewable energy systems.
The mechanical engineering curriculum at Memorial is unique in that it is a co-operative education programme; students will have up to two full years of industry experience before graduating. You can major in mechatronics, petroleum/offshore oil and gas, thermal fluids and energy, or materials and mechanics. Dynamics, material strength, vibration, automatic controls, machine design, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mathematics, materials, mechatronics, and robotics will all be covered.
