Program description
The major goal of a university education is to enable citizens to reason, analyse, problem-solve, and communicate in a world of cultural variations. The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Memorial University understands that a wide range of personal and professional experiences can spark an interest in continuing advanced studies in German. As a result, it welcomes students from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of aims.
The cultural and linguistic understanding gained in graduate German studies prepares students for work, continued study, or both. Students interested in teaching jobs are invited to take part in Memorial's Teaching Skills Enhancement Program.
The MA programme consists of courses and a thesis and is typically completed in two years of full-time study.
