Program description
The Faculty of Education at Memorial University is in charge of professionalising those who will lead in education. This covers professional development for teachers, administrators, and specialists who will work in primary, elementary, secondary, and postsecondary institutions. The faculty's work includes undergraduate and graduate studies, as well as continuing education. The mandate encompasses both specialist research to improve instructional practise and broad-based research to promote knowledge. Through a wide range of programmes and field activities, the faculty initiates and responds to change. It aims to train educators with a sound educational philosophy, an understanding of what knowledge is most valuable, a true joy of learning, and the ability to think critically. It aims to train educators who understand the history, have a plan for the present, and have a vision for the future.

Requirements for applicants
Bachelor's degree (minimum second class or 70% average in last 30 attempted courses); some programs have prerequisites and require work experience
Applicants who did not complete a baccalaureate or post-graduate degree at a recognized university where English is the primary language of instruction must normally complete either the:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and achieve a paper-based score of 580 (or higher), computer-based score of 237 (or higher), or internet-based score of 92-93 (or higher); or
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and achieve a score of 7 (or higher).
