Program description

Memorial's School of Pharmacy conducts cutting-edge research in an intimate and personal setting. The School of Pharmacy offers graduate students the chance to perform original research in the areas of Drug Discovery and Delivery, Health Outcomes, and Teaching and Learning Scholarship. There are various research laboratories, including rooms dedicated to organic synthesis/natural products chemistry, a cell culture facility, pharmacology labs, and cutting-edge computer networks. All offices and research laboratories at the Health Sciences Centre are linked to the MUNet, a high-speed network that connects the campus to the rest of the globe.

The PhD programme consists of courses, a comprehensive exam, and a thesis that can be finished in four years of full-time study.

Requirements for applicants

  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy in closely related fields (Minimum grade point average of B+ or 75% average or equivalent)

Applicants who did not complete a baccalaureate or post-graduate degree at a recognized university where English is the primary language of instruction must normally complete either the:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and achieve a paper-based score of 580 (or higher), computer-based score of 237 (or higher), or internet-based score of 92-93 (or higher); or
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and achieve a score of 7 (or higher).
