About the university
We are the second-best hospitality school in Switzerland and the third-best in the world, fusing the finest of Switzerland's long history of hospitality with cutting-edge teaching methods. School firmly believes in the value of experiential learning. For this reason, we provide real-world, hands-on teaching in all areas of our curriculum.
By hosting events for actual consumers, managing the numerous restaurants or spa facilities on campus, or creating interior design proposals suitable for implementation in real-world settings, we can help our students develop their abilities.
We encourage additional education and invest in the education of our lecturers, transforming professionals from the sector into high-level teachers.
Along with the practical skills students require to become leaders in the hospitality business, they graduate with credentials that set them apart from the competition for employers around the globe.
Combining Two Schools
We invited the exceptional staff and students from IHTTI to visit our campuses in Leysin and Caux in July 2019. Finally, IHTTI became part of our family in 2021 when we added their famous design courses to SHMS's accredited degree programs.
We are pleased to merge our expertise at SHMS under one roof while preserving the legacy and heritage of IHTTI.

Some of the best players in the world can enter through our exclusive alliances and internship possibilities. Gain priceless real-world experience, establish connections with key stakeholders, and pick the brains of industry leaders - both in the classroom and at work. The Leysin campus, a well-known year-round resort area, provides students with a wide choice of leisure and sporting opportunities in a setting surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery. Leysin, which is situated in the region of Switzerland that speaks French, is easily reachable by train from the airports of Zurich and Geneva.
Both campuses offer students fitness gyms, storages, lounges, laundrys and private parkings. The Caux campus also has a nightclub and a bike lending service.
