London South Bank University LSBU
About the university
Established in south London in 1892 as the Borough Polytechnic Institute, we have since contributed to the betterment of local students, businesses, and residents.
The original goal of the organization—"to promote the industrial skill, general knowledge, health, and well-being of young men and women"—remains at the heart of what we do today. Our students will be prepared for the challenges of the modern workplace thanks to our hands-on, career-focused curriculum.
From its humble beginnings as a community center serving hot meals to evacuees during World War II to today, when one-fourth of our incoming freshmen come from the surrounding area, we have never wavered in our commitment to serving the local community and providing a top-notch education to all.
From its inception in 1892 to the present day, the University Archives Centre has been responsible for the preservation of artifacts such as photographs, documents, academic materials, and even physical features of campus.
